The Long Walk, by Bomb Doctor. Last updated 21 June 2026.
The Long Walk is a field tool. It is built to work without accounts and without sending your information to us. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with data.
If you grant location permission, the app reads your device position to place you relative to the incidents you have entered, to assign the active incident, and to compute your exposure. Your position is used on the device and is not transmitted to us or stored off the device. You can deny or revoke location permission in your device settings; the app still functions with positions entered by hand.
The details you enter for each incident, such as a label, coordinate, charge, and casing, are stored locally on your device so you can review and edit them. When you choose to push them to a paired Garmin watch, they are sent to that watch over the Connect IQ Mobile SDK, which uses the Garmin Connect app and a local Bluetooth link. This transfer does not pass through our servers.
Communication with your watch relies on the Garmin Connect app and Garmin's Connect IQ platform. Garmin's handling of data within Garmin Connect is governed by Garmin's own privacy policy, which is separate from this one.
The app does not include third-party analytics or advertising software. If the app stores are configured to provide aggregate, anonymized install or crash statistics through Apple or Google, those are governed by the respective store operator and are not linked to your incident data.
The Long Walk is a professional tool and is not directed at children.
The Long Walk is a documented engineering tool. It is not operational guidance and does not replace command explosive-safety authority.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
